September 11th 2001
Thank you for visiting myrotc.com

September 11th, 2001 started out a bright and wondrous fall day. By the end of that morning however, America had found itself in the dawn of a new era. Deep sadness found the hearts of all true Americans that day. The natural fear brought on by the enormous events that took place were quickly replaced with anger, and even great pride as the entire country learned that we had been attacked by terrorists and of the great acts of selfishlessness of our New York rescue workers as well as our brothers aboard flight 93. Shock and horror were among the emotions present as we all learned the World Trade Towers were no longer standing and that many had died during and after the attack, but it is true that Americans learned at least as much about pride, courage, and solidarity as we did about the reality of terrorism that morning and for the somber months to come. The many Americans lost that day and in the military actions that would follow and are still ongoing in the fight to protect our country against terror can not be replaced but they can and will always be remembered. For many long months we were all left to gaze into skies once speckled with aircraft of all kinds only to see military craft at best, which served as a constant reminder of the tragety and loss our country had endured on 911. Forever the hearts of true Americans will be with the families and loved ones of our brothers and sisters lost that day. Instead of the fall of a great nation the whole world witnessed America's ability to adapt and it's will to survive.

Though it is easy to get caught up in the hate and bitterness for those that wish our country harm, it is far more important that we remain in thought and prayer for those lost in these events and for the soldiers whom put their lives in danger to protect our great U.S. of A.

May peace be found by the innocent taken from us and for their loved ones and may America someday heal yet never forget september 11, 2001.
